Job summary

City of Pflugerville is hiring an Event Host for Monarch Recreation Center to create a welcoming, customer-focused environment for birthday parties, celebrations, and rental events. Responsibilities include setting up spaces, assisting with event flow, engaging guests, and ensuring a clean, organized experience before, during, and after events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid training, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
• Preferred: Customer service or event experience; Event Planning or Facility Management Certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests, renters, and program participants; provides event support and assists with reservations throughout the event.
• Supports birthday parties and other hosted events, including food service, activities, transitions, supplies, and communications with parents/guardians, renters, or event contacts.
• Monitors event spaces to ensure safety, organization, and adherence to facility guidelines.
• Sets up rooms and spaces based on reservations or event needs, including furniture, decorations, supplies, equipment.
• Assists with food service, transitions, and communication; maintains safety during activities.
• Cleans and resets rooms after parties; disinfects surfaces, removes trash, and prepares spaces for the next event.
• Provides backup support to programs or other recreation areas as assigned.
• Follows instructions, attends trainings/meetings, upholds center professionalism, and remains reachable for issues or emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
