The Event Security Guard is the most visible member of the IESS team and provides outstanding customer service to the attendees and guests of the events we secure. The successful Event Security Guard is punctual, in uniform, responsible, and professional at all times while on duty. Event Security Guards implement our “customer service first” mentality when interacting with the public, enforcing event policies but doing so with a positive framing.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Greet and interact with guests in an upbeat, friendly, and personable manner
- Stand at assigned post and maintain a level of alertness and awareness to the surroundings
- Patrol the facility on foot as directed by the supervisor
- Assist guests and client representatives as needed
- Respond to, report, and document any incidents or issues of which you become aware
- Provide outstanding customer service to everyone
- Wear the assigned company uniform properly
- Attend all required trainings and meetings as directed by the supervisor
- Be willing to become certified in site‑specific trainings
- Have full knowledge of the venues in which IESS operates
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by executive management
Additional Responsibilities Based on Position Level (Lead Guard)
- Supervise staff on assigned shift
- When required, conduct employment interviews and make hiring decisions
- When required, assist with overseeing training sessions
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Experience in security or hospitality preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and a pre‑employment drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available to work a reserve or on‑call schedule that meets business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Neat and professional appearance
- Upbeat, friendly, and personable demeanor
- Must be able to handle urgent situations with calm and poise
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift (up to 12 hours)
- Must be proficient in computer skills and fluent in Microsoft programs
