Job summary

Byron Public Schools seeks a Facility Monitor/Event Supervisor to help ensure a safe, secure environment for school events and rental use. The hourly position requires clear communication, decisive autonomy, and basic knowledge of building systems. You will manage access, safety briefings, and on-site presence during events.

You’ll perform post-event cleanup, report damages, and ensure proper security before leaving. 18+ required; Earned Sick and Safe Time benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate directions clearly and enforce rules firmly but politely.
• Capable of making decisions during emergencies with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with basic building systems or the ability to learn them quickly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor event areas and patrol the perimeter at intervals to prevent propped doors.
• Assist with check-in, access control, and ensuring restrooms and spaces are prepared.
• Enforce safety rules, assist attendees, and document issues for reporting.
• Post-event cleanup, equipment return, and secure all exterior doors.
