Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Skynet team, focused on the eventing domain within VinSolutions' CRM Shared Apps. You will develop and maintain high-throughput, scalable event-driven systems with mentorship from senior engineers.

This role offers a hybrid schedule (Kansas City area) with in-office 3 days weekly and up to 5% travel. Base salary ranges from $89,400 to $134,000 per year, with potential additional incentive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Familiarity with ASP.NET, C#, REST APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server) and AWS.
• Willingness to learn distributed systems concepts with team support.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• In-office 3 days a week in Kansas City area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Eventing 2.0 infrastructure (event bus, contracts, publishers/consumers).
• Diagnose and resolve issues in high-throughput eventing pipelines.
• Collaborate to implement event schemas and backward-compatible evolution.
• Write clean, efficient, testable C#/.NET code.
• Contribute to Skynet shared services like WAF protections and dashboards.
• Participate in SDLC including testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver features.
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to peers.
• Contribute to improving development processes and test strategies.
