Job summary

Liberty Military Housing is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator Manager in the San Diego area. You will lead Event Coordinators in the Community Services Department, shaping event design, timelines, and execution to reflect Liberty’s mission and standards.

You’ll coach staff, manage schedules, and support recruitment and onboarding while handling budgets, contracts, and partner relationships. The role requires strong leadership and a passion for military family support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in event planning and coordination.
• Degree in event planning, recreation, hospitality, marketing, or related field required.
• Event planning certificate preferred (in progress acceptable).
• Experience managing team members/direct reports.
• Familiarity with military community and children programs preferred.
• Strong writing, public speaking, and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach Event Coordinators within the Community Services Department.
• Develop timelines, production schedules, and event plans.
• Coach on attendee experiences using demographics and trends.
• Oversee agendas, minutes, and task assignments; ensure targets are met.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training for new staff.
• Manage monthly schedules and day-of coordination.
• Perform administrative tasks and use software systems (Payscan, Yardi, Streampoint, Office apps).
