Job summary

Fooda is seeking an energetic part-time Events Support member to assist with on-site setup, teardown, and customer service at Fooda sites. You’ll also fill in as a back-up cashier and help with delivering equipment and food to events.

Ideal candidates are friendly, tech-savvy, and skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced startup environment. Monday–Friday lunch-hour availability is preferred, with 20–25 hours per week and potential for advancement. Free food and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Prior catering or serving experience strongly preferred.
• Part-time schedule 20-25 hours per week.
• Available Monday - Friday 10am - 2pm.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, tear down, clean equipment and site areas.
• Back-up cashier at Fooda Cafés as needed.
• Drive/deliver equipment and food to Fooda sites.
• Troubleshoot POS and onsite technology.
• Conduct onsite Fooda promotions and app coaching.
• Provide real-time onsite customer service.
• Audit restaurant event set-ups for quality.
• Escalate issues to Operations Manager when needed.
• Hours mostly during lunch 10am-2pm; may span 8am-4pm.

Who We Are:

Our story began in 2011 when a group of office workers at a major logistics company in Chicago had a lunch problem. Nearby options were limited, and the team was spending too much time and money traveling to their favorite restaurants. They had an idea: bring Chicago’s local restaurant culture inside the office to sell food. It was an immediate hit. When they discovered people from other companies sneaking into their office, they knew they were on to something.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support Fooda events in a variety of capacities, including: 1.) being onsite to set-up, tear down, clean equipment and site areas, problem-solve, and ensure high quality set-up and customer experience, 2.) serve as back-up cashier at Fooda Cafés for team members who have time off, and 3.) driver responsibilities, delivering equipment and food to Fooda sites.
• Gain competency with Fooda’s technology and standard operations procedures
• Problem-solve for issues such as incorrect orders, late deliveries, late restaurant arrivals, or incorrect email communication
• Troubleshoot technical issues with point-of-sale (POS) system, onsite technology, and TV menu boards
• Conduct onsite Fooda promotions and mobile app coaching
• Provide real-time onsite customer service to resolve issues promptly directly with the consumer
• Facilitate audits of restaurant event set-up to ensure consistency and high quality
• Escalate issues to Operations Manager when necessary to keep them informed or help problem solve
• Critical hours are over lunch (10 am - 2 pm) but responsibilities may span 8am-4pm, depending on the market and need

• You’re someone who knows the local territory and gets around efficiently in your own car
• You’re looking for a steady part-time job (between 5 - 25 hours per week) during regular business hours and value flexibility
• Monday - Friday 10am - 2pm
• Prior catering or serving experience strongly preferred
