Job summary

South Padre Island Convention Centre is seeking a Maintenance Technician to manage general maintenance, housekeeping and event needs. You will coordinate setup/breakdown, operate lifts and forklifts, and maintain HVAC-related records in a fast-paced venue environment.

The role requires flexibility to work nights, evenings, weekends and holidays, with strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and quality service for events and guests.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with coursework in HVAC or electrical systems.
• One year of related maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Bilingual: Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping, maintenance and event setup for the facility.
• Set up, break down, and changeover of furniture, staging and equipment for events.
• Operate lifts and transport equipment; use forklift as needed.
• Maintain inventories and records; monitor HVAC-related records.
• Adhere to safety, decontamination and cleaning protocols for facility turnover.
• Communicate with vendors, staff and guests professionally.
