The City of South Padre Island is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the South Padre Island Convention Centre under the Facilities Director. The role covers housekeeping, routine maintenance, event setup, and vendor coordination to ensure smooth operations of a busy venue.
Candidates should have at least a high school diploma with HVAC or electrical coursework and one year of maintenance experience; bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

Forklift; high lift; buffer machine; handsaw; broom and mop; telephone; power tools such as skill saw and drills; hand tools such as open-end wrenches, sockets sets, pipe wrenches, etc.

Work environment is normally located inside an air‑conditioned office, although at times the employee will be required to be in outside conditions for periods of time throughout the day where the employee may be exposed to extreme heat, cold, wet, windy or humid conditions. The employee is at times exposed to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The storage area for collateral materials and displays is located upstairs where the employee may experience exposure to dusty and very loud noises. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet or very noisy depending on the events.
