Job summary

The City of Asheville is seeking a Facility Attendant in the Community and Regional Entertainment Facilities Department to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming venues such as the Harrah's Cherokee Center- Asheville.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of work experience, and a valid North Carolina driver’s license. This is a full-time role with duties spanning custodial work, safety, and basic facility operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; may have equivalent experience.
• At least one year of work experience demonstrating steady employment in any field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide custodial duties for buildings, facilities, and grounds, including vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning carpets and floors.
• Clean, dust, and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces; maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
• Replenish soap and paper products; dispose of trash and recyclables; maintain clean trash containers.
• Ensure building and park security by locking/unlocking doors and monitoring alarms.
• Operate equipment such as vacuums, carpet cleaners, buffers, ladders, and other cleaning tools; adhere to safety guidelines.
• Assist in inventory checks; request replacements and stock supplies as needed.
• Communicate with supervisor and the public to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
• Process department documents and maintain records and checklists as required.
