Job summary

Asheville City Schools is seeking a general custodian to perform custodial and light groundskeeping tasks across school facilities. You will sweep, mop, vacuum, and shampoo floors, clean restrooms, windows, and furniture, and monitor safety and equipment throughout the buildings.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and a valid North Carolina driver's license. Physical work is required, and duties may include opening/locking buildings and occasional on-call responsibilities for events.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school with experience in custodial work or equivalent training.
• Valid NC driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, shampoo, strip, wax, and buff floors.
• Clean restrooms; replenish supplies.
• Clean windows, walls, woodwork, blinds and fixtures.
• Dust desks and furniture; empty trash and manage recyclables.
• Inspect heating systems; monitor safety and maintenance.
• Open/secure buildings; adjust HVAC as needed.
