Job summary

Legends Global, a leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, seeks a Banquet Server for The Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, VA. Compensation is $20.00 hourly. You will support event service, set-up, and guest assistance with professional attire and a focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualified candidates have at least six months in a service role, knowledge of catering terms, and strong guest service skills. Flexibility to cover event times is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months in a service-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of catering services and terminology.
• Strong guest service skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to events.

Responsibilities

• Reports for work in proper uniform according to the scheduled time.
• Follows instructions for each event as given by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain.
• Assists with collecting all banquet equipment and serving pieces.
• Assists with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads.
• Assists with cleaning and filling salt/pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.
• Assists with preparation and set-up of event room as needed.
• Prepares tables with place settings as instructed.
• Attends pre-function meetings for briefing of event details.
• Provides friendly and courteous customer service at all times.
• Remains at assigned station and performs duties per event.
• Reports customer concerns to Banquet Captain.
• Breaks down tables and equipment after events.
• Returns serving pieces to storage area.
• Adheres to grooming standards and policies.
• Follows service standards and guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
