• Ability to count money and make change.
• Ability to file alphabetically and numerically.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to learn tasks within a reasonable time period.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve at circulation desk, charge and discharge library materials and issue library cards; collect fees for lost or damaged items.
• Respond to patrons in person or by telephone regarding library information, materials or services.
• Interpret and answer questions regarding circulation policies and procedures.
• Identify overdue and damaged materials; search shelves for overdue, missing or lost items.
• Prepare daily cash reports.
• Process interlibrary loan and document delivery requests; maintain records and statistics.
• Pull and send Pick List Materials for requested items.
• Retrieve, separate and discharge materials deposited in book drops.
• Attend library conferences and workshops as assigned.
• Ensure the security of library items and proper functioning of equipment.
• Sort materials by call number and shelve in correct locations.
• Shelf read and re-shelve materials in order; adjust as needed.
• Flag materials in poor condition for department manager.
• Perform other duties as requested.
