Job summary

Independent Home Health is seeking a compassionate caregiver to assist a client in their home environment, providing companionship and daily support. This role emphasizes respectful, person‑centered care and the ability to adapt to the client’s routine.

You will help with daily ADLs, prepare meals, monitor health changes, and document services while maintaining dignity and safety at all times. Training is provided; experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to pass PA and FBI background checks if required.
• TB Clearance or test as applicable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and a caring attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs.
• Light housekeeping and tidying living areas.
• Monitor changes in health, behavior, or environment and report.
• Provide medication reminders and companionship.
• Assist with transportation to appointments and activities.
• Follow care plans and document services provided.
• Maintain client dignity, confidentiality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up living areas
• Monitor and report changes in the client’s health, behavior, or environment
• Medication reminders
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with transportation to appointments, errands, or social activities (if applicable)
• Follow care plans and document services provided
• Maintain client dignity, confidentiality, and safety at all times

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if transportation assistance is required)
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds, depending on client needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a strong work ethic
• 1‑year hands‑on caregiving experience is preferred, but not required

Job Requirements

• 18 years old or more
• Have a valid ID
• Able to pass a PA criminal background check
• Able to pass an FBI background check if you have not been a PA resident for 2 years
• TB Clearance
