Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center seeks a Lab Supervisor for evening shifts to plan, coordinate and supervise the clinical laboratory operations, ensuring quality, safety and accreditation compliance. You will guide staff, mentor team members, and manage scheduling to maintain timely, cost-effective lab services for patients and staff.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, four years in a clinical lab, and leadership experience; ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• One year of leadership experience.
• Four years of experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Registration/certification from the American Society of Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Formulates department goals consistent with organizational goals.
• Supervises and participates in personnel management for laboratory staff.
• Provides hands-on support and mentors the team.
• Ensures adequate scheduling and staffing for timely, cost-efficient services.
• Ensures quality control, maintenance, results and proficiency tests are accurate.
• Manages supplies and equipment to meet department needs and evaluate new tech.
• Conducts performance appraisals and handles personnel issues.
• Reviews time records in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensures compliance with FDA, CAP, DNV and accrediting guidelines.
• Maintains safe, appropriate, cost-effective processes and procedures.
• Updates manuals as necessary and participates in training.
• Involves in instruction/evaluation of MLT, MLS, phlebotomy students.
• Administers continuing education focusing on service excellence and teamwork.
• Champions REACH values of the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
