Job summary

Utah Valley University is seeking a Facilities Service Technician (Technician I) to join the Facilities Services team on the Main Campus in Orem. The role blends custodial duties with building maintenance, supporting the appearance, safety, and functionality of campus spaces. This full-time, nonexempt position offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 4:30 p.m.

to 1:15 a.m. and requires a high school diploma with relevant experience.

Qualifications

Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of operation and repair of various motors.
Knowledge of basic hand tools and equipment used in routine building maintenance.
Knowledge of ADA standards for mounting of equipment and accessories.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and standards.
Knowledge of floor types and carpet materials.
Knowledge of safety practices and pest control.

Responsibilities

Performs specialized custodial duties, including cleaning, refinishing, and maintaining floors and restrooms; organizes storage areas.
Performs maintenance on facilities such as lights, walls, fixtures, and basic electrical/plumbing tasks; installs/repairs furniture.
Maintains custodial equipment and vehicles; performs preventative maintenance on buffers, vacuums, scrubbers, and related gear.
Provides general custodial coverage and supports additional job-related duties as assigned.
