Job summary

Compass Connections in Baytown, TX seeks compassionate caregivers for a high-need facility serving children. The role requires a HS diploma, CPR/First Aid, and 1+ year of related experience.

You will work 2:00pm–10:00pm, ensuring safety, conducting activities, and maintaining records, with full benefits starting on day one. Benefits include employer-paid medical/dental/vision, retirement options, and additional benefits.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish required.
• First aid, CPR, and Emergency Behavior Intervention certifications preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or college coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet all federal and state guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
• Report serious incidents and daily activities to Shelter Manager.
• Develop shift schedules and staff assignments to ensure safety of children and staff.
• Monitor and delegate daily facility operations tasks during shifts.
• Supervise interaction of children to promote positive behavior and daily routines.
• Plan, organize and supervise activities for children per daily schedule.
• Identify maintenance needs and report to Shelter Manager.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and team decisions.
• Assist in household chores and records management.
• Arrange air/ground transportation as needed.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Implement Compass Connections safety protocols during emergencies.
