Job summary

Upbring is seeking a Youth Care Worker for the 2nd shift (2:00 pm–10:00 pm) in McAllen, TX to provide direct care and supervision for Unaccompanied Children, ensuring safety and ORR licensing compliance.

You will perform intake, provide basic needs, manage behavior, document interventions, and support daily living activities. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 1 year of child welfare experience with children/adolescents preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required based on service area.
• Ability to work extended shifts including 12-hour shifts weekly.
• Proficiency with basic computer programs and documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision for Unaccompanied Children (UC).
• Support basic needs: meals, clothing, hygiene, housing assignments.
• Enforce behavior limits per treatment plan and ORR standards.
• Perform crisis intervention and 1:1 monitoring as directed.
• Document interactions and progress notes per plans and ORR standards.
• Assist UC with social skills, daily living activities, and transportation safety.
• Engage with management, staff, UC and volunteers to meet program goals.
• Participate in meetings and trainings to maintain required hours.
