Qualifications

• AGE: 16 years or older as a third team member and included in CAC ratio or 18+.
• ECE/CD UNITS: Completed semester units in child development, human services, or related fields.
• RELATED EXPERIENCE: Experience with children in a group setting preferred.
• SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Strong character values; good communication; emotional maturity.
• LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: First Aid, CPR (Adult/Child/Infant) current; abuse prevention training.

Responsibilities

• Nurtures children through purposeful programming to build achievement and belonging.
• Maintains close visual supervision and adapts activities to ages and needs.
• Ensure no child is unsupervised and staff never alone with a child.
• Use positive behavior guidance and redirection with constructive consequences.
• Support inclusion and ADA compliance where appropriate.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate program activities aligned with YMCA guidelines.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, records, and equipment; communicate child progress.
• Engage with parents/caregivers and involve them as volunteers when suitable.
• Attend meetings and trainings; uphold safety, supervision, and reporting procedures.
