Job summary

G&W Electric Co. in Bolingbrook, IL seeks a Quality Weld Inspector for the 1:00pm to 9:30pm 2nd shift. This role inspects welded and fabricated parts on the shop floor, ensuring compliance with drawings, WPS, and customer specs.

You’ll work with welders, engineers, and quality teams to detect defects early and support continuous improvement. Responsibilities include pre-weld and in-process inspections, final checks, NCR/NCMR support, and documentation of results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; technical or manufacturing education is preferred.
• Experience in welding/fabrication inspections and understanding drawings/tolerances is expected.
• Familiarity with welding symbols, WPS, and inspection equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process, pre-weld, and final inspections per drawings and procedures.
• Verify welds meet size, location, and symbol requirements; verify WPS compliance.
• Document inspection results and nonconformances; support NCR/NCMR processes.
• Conduct dimensional inspections with calipers, micrometers, and weld gauges.
• Provide feedback to welders and supervisors to prevent defects and rework.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and traceability.
