Job summary

G&W Electric Co. seeks a Quality Weld Inspector (1st shift, 5:00am–1:30pm) to verify welded and fabricated parts against engineering drawings and welding specifications on the manufacturing floor.

The role partners with Welders, Team Leaders, and Quality teams to detect defects early, document inspection results, and support NCR/NCMR processes while ensuring compliance with AWS/ASME standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or manufacturing education preferred.
• Experience in welding, metal fabrication, machining, or manufacturing quality inspection.
• Ability to read drawings, tolerances, and welding symbols.
• Working knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
• Ability to follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Experience using dimensional and weld inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and communication with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-weld, in-process, and final inspections per drawings and plans.
• Identify quality issues early to reduce rework and delays.
• Provide immediate feedback to welders and supervisors.
• Maintain inspection records and documentation.
• Support NCR/NCMR and continuous improvement activities.
