Job summary

Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks & Rec is seeking a Supervisor of recreation activities to ensure safe and orderly programming. You will supervise staff, coordinate events, and manage facility operations in the ice arena and related fields, with evening and weekend shifts.

The role requires leadership experience, safety focus, and strong communication with participants, parents, teachers, and organizations; high school diploma with preferred recreation management education is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s degree or higher in Recreation Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years experience organizing events or teaching programs to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical direction of work production to lower-level staff.
• Deliver indoor/outdoor recreation activities for diverse participants.
• Issue passes for recreational skating and enforce rink safety rules.
• Clean and maintain locker rooms and ice arena seating; perform custodial duties.
• Maintain and sharpen ice skates and equipment; provide first aid as needed.
