Job summary

Holland America Dawson City Inn is seeking a diligent Recreation Supervisor to ensure safe and engaging programs for all ages within the Parks & Recreation Department. You will supervise staff, coordinate weekend/evening activities, and oversee facility operations at the ice arena and related fields.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2+ years of event leadership, and 6 months supervisory experience. A valid driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Recreation Management or related field is preferred.
• Minimum two years of direct work experience organizing events or teaching programs to diverse groups.
• Minimum six months supervisory experience.
• Six months of cash handling, operating a PC or cash register, and using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical direction of work production.
• Offer indoor/outdoor recreation activities for various groups including people with disabilities.
• Issue passes for skating and enforce safety rules on the ice rink.
• Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Clean, sharpen, and maintain ice skates and equipment.
• Render emergency first aid as needed.
• Inspect facilities and report safety concerns.
• Inform participants of facility rules and enforce schedules.
