Job summary

Virginia Highlands Community College (VHCC) seeks a dynamic, full-time faculty member to deliver high-quality instruction for a new evening/weekend Practical Nursing cohort. This grant-funded position requires leadership, coordination, and compliance with Virginia Board of Nursing regulations.

Evening and weekend teaching will be required, with renewal contingent on funding. The selected candidate will participate in student admission, clinical placement, curriculum planning, and mentoring PN

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Active Virginia RN license with no restrictions (or ability to obtain).
• Minimum two years of full-time direct care experience.
• Commitment to the mission of community colleges and public service.
• Willingness to teach evenings and weekends, in person, online, or in clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead instruction and coordinate the PN program for the evening/weekend cohort.
• Participate in student admission, clinical placement, and program planning.
• Mentor PN adjunct faculty and ensure compliance with Virginia Board of Nursing regulations.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and service on college committees.
