The William Paterson University of New Jersey is seeking an Evening and Weekends Supervisor for Cheng Library. The role demands independence and initiative, protecting the safety of staff and patrons while ensuring efficient library operations during evenings and weekends.

Reporting to the Access Services Librarian, you will supervise staff, maintain borrower records, assist users, and coordinate with daytime supervisors.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum two years of library or service-related experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in work.
• Good computer skills and familiarity with library systems.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise Lending Services and Periodicals staff during evening/weekend hours.
• Oversee the library system interfaces and desk operations.
• Assist patrons in person, by phone, and by email.
• Train and supervise student assistants and colleagues.
• Manage department finances and daily receipts with Bursar's office.
• Prepare and maintain departmental statistics and reports.
• Contribute to library instruction and information literacy sessions.
