Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a PRN Laboratory Technician to support specimen collection and processing in the laboratory. Availability for evening and overnight weekend shifts is required, and training will be full-time on weekdays for the first two weeks.

The role performs routine duties in the assigned section, maintains records, and assists in specimen handling, registration, and LIS inquiries as needed. Emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to department procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to safety standards.
• Retrieves specimens and transports them for analysis; logs specimens.
• Maintains clean work environment and records; supports quality control.
• Assists in patient registration and LIS inquiries as needed.
