Job summary

Merrick Inc. in Kentucky is seeking an In-Home Supports (HIS) Caregiver to provide individualized, one-on-one support to clients in their homes and in the community, promoting independence and life skills.

The role involves helping with daily activities, transportation, and personal cares, while maintaining safety, dignity, and client outcomes. Evening and weekend shifts may be required, with hours added to regular pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 1 year (6–12 months) experience supporting individuals with IDD preferred.
• Experience assisting clients with toileting and brief changes preferred.
• Medication certification may be required depending on assigned clients.
• Proficient with electronic devices, databases, and internet applications.
• Able to transport clients in personal vehicle with minimum insurance requirements.
• Ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol test as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with day-to-day needs and wants.
• Manage caseload to ensure policy compliance.
• Encourage clients to reach personal goals and engage in activities.
• Engage with clients throughout the day in activities or outings.
• Assist with coping skills to prevent conflicts.
• Assist with personal cares (toileting, briefs, bathing, feeding, meals).
• Assist with client transfers using body mechanics and equipment.
• Complete required client documentation.
