The University of Virginia’s Shannon Library seeks Graduate Student workers to provide Reference services during evenings and weekends at the Shannon Library’s main Service and Information Desk, online via our Ask-a-Librarian service, and over the phone. Reference Student Assistants help patrons find information for research, UVA visits, or librarian consultations.

Qualificações

• Must be a full-time registered graduate student (in SIS).
• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Able to work evenings and weekends and follow schedules.
• Willingness to learn library systems and databases.

Responsabilidades

• Assist patrons in person, on the phone, and via online chat with reference questions.
• Use Virgo and databases to answer questions and guide patrons to resources.
• Assist with circulation duties: checkout, discharge, renewals.
• Support reference team projects and maintain reference materials.
