Job summary

The DeKalb Park District is seeking a Part-Time Facility Custodian for Hopkins Park in DeKalb, IL. This role involves performing a variety of janitorial tasks, such as vacuuming, mopping, and maintaining cleanliness in community center areas.

Ideal candidates should have prior custodial experience and be able to work nights and/or weekends. Special requirements include obtaining CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. This position provides the opportunity to positively impact the community's recreational spaces.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions and give clear instructions.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
• Ability to handle negative feedback from patrons.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodian duties including vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing.
• Directly responsible for cleaning and organizing all Hopkins Park Community Center areas.
• Assist in the set-up and tear down of equipment for various programs.

Skills

Basic knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in custodial duties

Ability to work independently and in a team

Ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous physical labor

Education

18 years of age or older

Previous custodial experience preferred
