Job summary

Circle Haven, Inc. in Cherry Hill, NJ seeks a DSP for 10-13 hours per week, evenings and weekends, to support adults with disabilities in community-based settings. The role involves direct care, documentation, and promoting independence in daily living activities.

Ideal candidates will have experience working with individuals with disabilities, strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to perform physical tasks. Transportation and proof of car insurance are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with physical limitations (using lifts/transfers).
• Strong written and visual communication skills.
• Dependable in attendance and timeliness.
• Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and walking for periods of time.
• Must have reliable transportation, clean driving record, and proof of car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Performs personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding and ambulation, medical monitoring and health care related tasks.
• Documents services provided. Keeps track of casework notes, daily activities, behavioral assessments.
• Maximizes independence in various life skills including nutrition, cooking, finance, community participation and social skills.
• Transport individuals, as appropriate, into community for outings or appointments.
• All other duties as assigned.
