Job summary

Cadient, LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional at the Hoyt residence in Port Ewen, NY. The DSP will support six residents with developmental disabilities in daily living and community activities, promoting independence and engagement.

Responsibilities include participating in crafts, outings, shopping, and events with residents; training and supervising, with on-site orientation and certifications such as First Aid/CPR and Medication Administration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus.
• A valid NYS driver’s license and basic computer knowledge are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and in the community.
• Assist residents with daily activities, community outings, shopping, cooking, and social events.
• Engage residents in crafts, outings, parties, and music activities; support inclusion and participation.
