Job summary

The City of Eugene is recruiting for a pool of custodial candidates to perform janitorial duties at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, OR. This is a part-time position supporting events seven days a week; schedules vary with shows and events.

Applicants may be called for temporary custodian shifts based on experience and organizational needs. Starting pay ranges within the OEPA-guided scale, and placement depends on education and experience provided in the application materials.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to six months full-time custodial and building maintenance experience.
• Experience in large facilities is desirable.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a physical assessment and drug test.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license (or ability to obtain by date of hire) and driving record acceptable by the City

Responsibilities

• Dust, sweep, mop, and perform floor care including stripping, waxing, and buffing.
• Operate custodial equipment and hand/power tools; may service small equipment.
• Maintain daily records of custodial activities and restock supplies.
• Provide courteous customer service to city staff and the public during events.
• Assist with minor grounds work and report safety or maintenance issues as needed.
