Qualifications

• Must have completed coursework and examinations to obtain Medication Technician certification per State regulations.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must complete required continued education and maintain certification per State regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administers and records medications for residents per physician’s orders and state regulations.
• Observes and reports symptoms or adverse drug reactions related to medications.
• Maintains safe storage and accountability for medications and supplies.
• Ensures infection control practices and OSHA standards are followed.
• Maintains confidentiality of protected health information and reports concerns as required.
