Job summary

NOVA, the Northern Virginia Community College, is seeking an Evening and Weekend Operations Support Specialist to assist students, visitors and campus staff during after-hours and weekends. The role supports campus operations, rentals and safety procedures to keep facilities functional and welcoming.

Ideal candidates will be able to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a safe, inclusive campus environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to remain calm and execute crisis management during evening operations.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication with students, staff and the public.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects.
• Knowledge of emergency response protocols.
• Provide professional customer service in public-facing settings.
• Ability to work independently, follow directions, and collaborate with a team.
• Support a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Adhere to facility rules, safety procedures, and department guidelines.
• Experience in an operations role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate campus evening and weekend operations.
• Assist students, visitors and campus personnel during evening and weekend hours.
• Ensure instructional, support services and facilities function efficiently.
• Respond to campus emergencies, maintain warden lists and drills.
• Manage campus rentals of theater, classrooms and event spaces for campus/community use.
• Monitor departmental expenses and budgets.
• Use AIS with eVA to perform duties.
• Access to the AIS system to perform duties.
