Job summary

Art of Problem Solving is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant for AoPS Academy. The role supports virtual afterschool sessions with math and language arts focus, working with students to develop problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate is 16+, enjoys guiding younger learners, and can commit to Sunday–Thursday evenings 6:30 PM–8:30 PM ET. Candidates must reside in Massachusetts and be able to attend occasional campus visits for materials or testing.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Strong math and language arts skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts.
• Ability to work well independently with little supervision.
• Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred.
• Exceptional written and spoken communication.
• Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is not required, but a plus.

Responsibilities

• Host weekly office hours and on-demand tutoring sessions for students.
• Work with students individually or in small groups.
• Provide exceptional feedback on graded assignments.
• Collaborate with instructors and full-time staff on student and classroom needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
