Job summary

Corporate Travel Management Limited in the United States is seeking a travel counselor to arrange domestic and basic international travel for business travelers. You will handle air, rail, car, hotel bookings and related services, while maintaining customer satisfaction and compliance with travel policies.

The role requires at least 3 years of travel counselor experience, Sabre GDS and ideally Amadeus GDS familiarity, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Post-secondary education in Travel and Tourism.
• At least 3 years travel counselor experience or equivalent travel industry experience.
• Sabre GDS required.
• Amadeus GDS experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customer in verbal and written form to determine destination, mode of transportation, travel dates, financial considerations, and accommodations required.
• Arrange all travel related services including air, rail, car, hotel, seat assignments, and other accommodations requested by the client.
• Develop an understanding of basic international travel, including fares and pricing, available resources and travel documentation requirements.
• Be consultative with customer, adhering to organization’s Travel Policy guidelines.
• Compute cost of travel related services using the GDS or other booking tools and resources.
• Assist customers with travel changes and special requests, including problem solving.
• Quality Control each reservation before queuing to the relevant ticketing/quality control queue.
• Work independently and with leadership team to resolve customer service issues.
• Create and update passenger profiles to properly service each traveler.
• Monitor assigned queues to ensure reservations and tasks are accurate and complete; escalate if needed.
• Maintain reservations in a completed state regardless of authorization to ticket.
• Read daily briefings to keep updated on industry developments.
• Maintain knowledge of GDS and booking tools used for the account.
• Maintain productivity goals as set by leadership.
• Ensure strong intra departmental communication and exemplary customer service.
• Must maintain good attendance record.
• Other duties as assigned.
