Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital Sterile Processing is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Tech 1 to join the team in Fairfax, VA. This full-time position runs on the evening shift from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend requirement.

As part of Inova Health System, you will inspect instruments, operate sterilization equipment, manage inventory, and document processing steps to maintain sterile, ready-to-use sets for patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Preferred: previous sterile processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspects instruments and ensures that they are free from bio-burden and in proper working condition prior to assembling sets according to count sheets.
• Loads items to be sterilized on the loading cart and records them on the load card.
• Operates all sterilization equipment (Steam, Sterrad, Steris) and validates the sterilization process.
• Manages instrument inventory and maintains par levels of all items, sets, trays, and MSET boxes.
• Prepares instrumentation for decontamination, loads washers, and operates washer/decontaminators and related equipment.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
