Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician 2 for a full-time evening shift (3:00pm-11:30pm). The role includes decontaminating instruments, assembling sterile instrumentation, maintaining inventory, and serving as a department resource.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: One-year Sterile Processing experience required.
• Certification CRCST or CBSPD certification from IAHCSMM or CBSPD.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates instruments in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Assembles instrumentation accurately and ensures sterility.
• Maintains instruments inventory and distributes instruments.
• Assumes a leadership role within the department.
• Serves as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas.

Sterile Processing Technicians 2 Job Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Tech 2 decontaminates instruments in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Assembles instrumentation accurately and efficiently and ensures sterility of all processed items.
• Maintains instruments inventory and ensures timely distribution of instruments to all customers. Prioritizes instruments and assembles complex trays.
• Assumes a leadership role within the department.
• Serves as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Experience: One-year Sterile Processing experience required.
• Certification CRCST or CBSPD certification from The International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
