Qualifications

• Pass a nationally accredited central service exam and maintain one of the listed credentials.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CR CST) credential or Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician credential.
• Grand-fathering clause requires evidence of healthcare facility Central Service work for 1 year between 2011-2015.
• Maintains certification within specified timeframes if provisional or required by policy.

Responsabilités

• Process and supply sterile goods and equipment to hospital areas (decontamination, gleaming, packing, sterilizing, storing, distribution).
• Maintain supplies used in sterilizing items and ensure availability for hospital and affiliates.
• Report shortages and coordinate replenishment with appropriate staff.
• Distribute supplies and equipment throughout hospital and affiliates as needed.
• Follow department policies and procedures for distribution and stocking; keep areas clean and stocked.
• Transport medications from crash cart to pharmacy and ensure safe handling.
• Adhere to PPE and safety standards during all processing activities.
