Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to support the Materials Management department at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. The role involves processing, sterilization, and distribution of sterile goods for the hospital, with a 40-hour workweek and occasional evenings, overnights, weekends or holidays.

The ideal candidate will hold CRCST or CSPDT credentials and meet the required central service standards.

Qualifications

• Credentialed: Passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds one of the following credentials.
• Hard to Fill Clause: A facility may employ or contract with a person who does not meet the requirements if qualified staff are unavailable.
• Grand-fathering Clause: Evidence of Central Service employment in a healthcare facility for one year between 1/1/2011 and 1/1/2015.

Responsibilities

• Processing and supplying sterile goods to all hospital areas, including decontamination, cleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing and distribution.
• Sterilization: ensure appropriate supplies are used and maintain equipment and carts.
• Distribution: transport supplies, medication and equipment throughout the hospital.
