Job summary

UT Health East Texas is seeking an evening shift, full-time Sterile Processing Supervisor in Tyler, TX. You will lead SPD operations, oversee reprocessing of surgical instruments, and ensure compliance with health standards to support patient care.

The role requires 4 years SPD experience with leadership, a CBSPD/IAHCSMM certification, and BLS. You will train staff, coordinate daily SPD activities, and uphold safety and quality across the department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4 years of hands-on SPD experience with one year of leadership, including lead experience.
• Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides support, training, and communication regarding the reprocessing of surgical instruments and trays to our facility in compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards and facilities goals and policies.
• Coordinates and supervises day-to-day operations of SPD employees.
