Job summary

UT Health East Texas is seeking an Evening shift Sterile Processing Supervisor in Tyler, TX to lead reprocessing of surgical instruments and trays in a compliant, patient-focused setting. You will oversee SPD staff, provide training, and ensure daily operations meet regulatory and facility goals.

Minimum 4 years in SPD with leadership experience is required, along with CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification and a BLS credential within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4 years of hands-on SPD experience with one year of leadership.
• Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role.

Responsibilities

• Provides support, training, and communication regarding the reprocessing of surgical instruments and trays to our facility in compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards and facilities goals and policies.
• Coordinates and supervises day-to-day operations of SPD employees.
