Job summary

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; Central Services Technician training with certification preferred; 2 years minimum experience (5 years preferred); computer knowledge and strong interpersonal skills required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from a Central Services Technician course and Certification preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years previous experience in this job classification required; 5 years preferred.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Good interpersonal skills necessary.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, prepares, packages and sterilizes surgical instrumentation and supplies.
• Performs all duties of a Certified Sterile Technician.
• Meets daily required distribution of processed materials with proper documentation and reports submitted.
• Assures proper instrumentation requirements for the surgical schedule as indicated by supervisor and SPD/OR Liaison.
• Operates the sterilizer and ensures that staff is producing a minimum of 4 trays each.
