Job summary

United WestLabs is seeking a detail-oriented Specimen Processor to join our laboratory operations team in Lexington, KY. You will ensure accurate receipt, verification, processing, and routing of patient specimens for testing, with strong data-entry and communication skills. The role requires accuracy under pressure, adherence to safety and PPE guidelines, and collaboration with clinicians and lab staff to support timely patient care and high-quality service.

Hours are 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Process specimen requisitions accurately and enter data into laboratory systems.
• Verify specimens match physician orders and labeling requirements.
• Prioritize STAT and time-sensitive specimens to support turnaround times.
• Print, organize, and distribute patient charts and related documentation as requested.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow PPE and safety policies.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and other departments to ensure efficient workflow.
