Qualifications

• High school diploma with Biology and Chemistry coursework.
• Passes standard precautions.
• Organizational and clerical skills to maintain logs/records; computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with physicians, nurses, and labs regarding results and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Receives specimens for pre-analytical processing and related tasks including patient registration, test ordering, and labeling.
• Maintains logbooks and other required documents.
• Checks specimens for special handling needs with technologists.
• Contacts units and offices to clarify testing requests and prioritize tests.
• Answers central laboratory telephone line and assists with test results and inquiries.
