Job summary

Bon Appétit Management Company is hiring a full-time Sous Chef at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. You will assist the Executive Chef, prepare and cook foods, and supervise cooks and food-service associates on shift. Schedule is Monday through Saturday, 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM. Prior chef experience is required.

Location: 800 Florida Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20002. Online applications accepted only. We offer competitive wages between $25.00 and $27.00 per hour, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous chef experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including scheduling, payroll, training, and reviews.
• Stores food properly and ensures sanitation and safety procedures are followed.
• Maintains proper serving temperatures and presentation.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints and explain menu items to staff and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and communicates stock needs to supervisor.
