Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Supervisor - Microbiology

Schedule & Location

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM

Department: Microbiology

Location: 4400 NE Halsey Street, Portland, OR 97213

Responsibilities

1. Supervise daily operations of the Microbiology laboratory.
2. Ensure accurate and timely test performance and reporting.
3. Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel.
4. Monitor workflow and schedule assay coverage.
5. Staff management across shifts.
6. Research and resolve production errors; escalate as needed.
7. Implement continuous process and service improvements.
8. Maintain equipment through Quality Control.
9. Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records.
10. Evaluate new processes and recommend improvements.
11. Conduct regular coaching and feedback sessions with staff.
12. Perform bench work and maintain technical proficiency.
13. Ensure compliance with regulations.
14. Manage policies, procedures, payroll, and personnel files.
15. Perform administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related Science field.
• Minimum 5 years of Microbiology laboratory experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• ASCP certification required.
• Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and state regulations.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Decision-making ability in dynamic environments.
• Physical capability to perform job duties.
