Job summary

The Bistro Attendant at Meyer Jabara Hotels in Bethlehem is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast items, operating Toast POS, handling cash and room charges, and keeping the Bistro area clean and welcoming. The Bistro Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages, assisting guests with purchases, maintaining cleanliness throughout the Bistro area, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is outgoing, dependable, enjoys interacting with the public, and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences. No prior hotel or Bistro experience is required, we are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic, a friendly personality, enjoys working with the public, and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest service.

Essential Functions and Duties

• Greet guests with a warm, friendly smile and provide outstanding customer service
• Prepare and serve breakfast food and beverages according to Marriott brand standards
• Operate the Toast POS system and accurately process guest food and beverage transactions
• Handle cash, credit card, mobile, and room charge transactions in accordance with hotel policies
• Balance and reconcile sales transactions at the end of each shift as required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Bistro environment
• Stock food, beverages, supplies, and condiments throughout the shift
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and health standards are followed at all times
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation
• Assist guests with menu selections and answer questions regarding food and beverage offerings
• Keep dining areas, counters, tables, and service stations clean and sanitized
• Assist with receiving and organizing food and beverage deliveries
• Work closely with Front Desk and Housekeeping teams to ensure a positive guest experience
• Assist with setup and breakdown of breakfast service each day
• Perform light cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and taking out trash
• Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and security procedures
• Support fellow team members and assist in other areas of the hotel when needed
• Perform various other duties as assigned

Required Experience, Education, and Skills

• Previous food service, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience is preferred but not required
• Previous experience using Toast POS is preferred but not required
• Comfortable learning and operating restaurant point-of-sale technology
• Friendly, outgoing, and professional personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Willingness to learn and follow Marriott brand standards
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry supplies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Ability to safely handle food and beverage products
