Job summary

Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport is seeking a PM Maintenance Engineer to efficiently operate and maintain central HVAC and building systems on an evening shift within a full-time role at our hotel.

The ideal candidate has hotel engineering experience across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen operations, with required certifications where applicable. Strong communication and reliable self-initiative are essential, with rotating weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and commercial kitchen roles.
• State certification or licensure where required.
• Read blueprints and schematics.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to work an evening shift with rotating weekends.
• Standing and walking during the shift; ability to lift 10–25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate central HVAC and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
• Repair and maintain food production, kitchen equipment, laundry, ice machines, refrigeration, boilers, plumbing, electrical and gas systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic problems and repair them quickly and cost-effectively.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on an ongoing basis.
