Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Worker to maintain a clean, orderly environment across patient areas, offices, and facilities. Under supervision, you will perform routine housekeeping tasks, use cleaning equipment, and help with linen and waste handling while following infection control practices and safety guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak basic English.
• Ability to operate simple mechanical devices and cleaning tools.
• Experience with heavy-duty electrical cleaning equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, orderly environment in patient areas, offices, clinics, and other assigned spaces.
• Operate and stock cleaning supplies cart; follow infection control practices.
• Transport and handle linen, waste, and used materials per department procedures.
• Disinfect bathrooms and patient rooms; replenish toiletries and supplies as needed.
• Set up furniture and audiovisual equipment for events and functions as required.
• Report equipment issues to supervisor and complete daily area inspections.
