Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Washington, DC is hiring for a Nighttime Team Member to join our fast-paced, friendly culture. You will be the primary customer contact, delivering fast, friendly, quality service while ensuring our sandwiches and other items are prepared to high standards in a clean environment.

The role offers an hourly wage between $18.75 and $19.25 plus tips, with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, paid time off, and more.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Customer-first mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment; knife skills a plus.
• Ability to manage allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish).
• Team player who can work with others.
• Ability to stand/walk for 3 hours or more.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed.
• Adhere to health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream) efficiently.
• If 18+, use of automatic slicer to prep items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Handle customer complaints/issues effectively.
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
